FALL, FRAGRANCE & THE ART OF TRADITION

FALL, FRAGRANCE & THE ART OF TRADITION

"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall."
- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Fall invites us into ritual — a season defined by comforts, and the beauty of intentional memory making with those most dear.

I like to honor long standing traditions, as well to create modern twists every year. This need not feel intimidating— the simplest gestures are what imprint us.

A fresh round of candles and a cord of wood are a must. The tactile pleasure of arranging hand-cut fragrant blooms, pots simmering with savory, cozy dishes to be served with fresh crusty breads, and softly lit rooms filled with throws and stacks of books bring joy.

These are the sensory signatures of autumn — fleeting, yet permanently treasured.

I like trying a new fragrance this time of year. I find a new perfume can define an era — each scent rushing us back to passing seasons like chapters.

Rituals exist because they comfort us. Take a moment to make a house home with the living elements of a cracking fire and a vase filled with hand picked blooms. It signals belief in the day at hand.
