FAQs

High Camp flowers are grown with love and packaged with care in our premium, water-resistant gift boxes to minimize exposure to light and air. Vine and Bloom Boxes  are cut-to-order and shipped priority overnight from our California farms to ensure exceptional freshness.

It is completely normal for flowers to arrive feeling slightly sleepy after their journey. They are designed so that with a few simple steps, they will quickly revive and open beautifully.

General Flower Care Upon arrival, gently unwrap your flowers and allow them to breathe.

Using clean scissors or garden shears, trim approximately one inch from the bottom of each stem at an angle to encourage water absorption.

Place flowers in a clean vessel filled with fresh water.

Remove all leaves below the water line to prevent bacteria and keep the water clear.

Refresh water and re-trim stems every 1–2 days for best results.

Display flowers away from direct sunlight, heat, and drafts.
Special Care by Flower Type:

Gardenia Blooms (Loose Blooms)

Our gardenia blooms arrive without stems or leaves and are intended to be enjoyed en masse.

Place blooms face up in a shallow bowl or vessel with 1–2 inches of cool water.

Blooms typically open within a few hours and last 3–4 days, filling your space with their signature fragrance.

Enjoy gathered together for a dramatic display or divided among smaller vessels throughout your home. Please be certain to leave enough room (approximately 3 -5 square inches)for flowers to open completely.  We generally add some leaves and perhaps a couple of on stem gardenias into the bowl as well for added color and dimension, although that is a matter of taste and completely up to you

Vine Gardenias

Vine gardenias arrive on short stems with tight buds that open gradually.

Snap or trim the stem ends (similar to asparagus) before placing them in cool water. It is not necessary for blooms to touch bottom of vase, but be certain the heads are supported by leaves, as they are heavy.  Do not let blooms sag down with weight on “neck” of bud, as they can not fully bloom  in that strained environment

Remove any leaves that would sit below the water line.

Blooms will begin opening within hours and continue to blossom over 2–3 days.

Roses, Lilies & Peonies

Trim approximately one inch from each stem at an angle using clean shears.

Place stems in one quart of room-temperature water mixed with:

1 teaspoon sugar (1 tablespoon for peonies)

½ teaspoon bleach (1 teaspoon for peonies)

This mixture provides nourishment while helping prevent bacterial growth, extending the life of your flowers.

Remove all leaves below the water line before arranging.
